The Philadelphia Chalk Festival is looking for mural artists!
Philadelphia based artists are encouraged to submit their chalk mural concepts to be considered for this one-day pop-up festival.
Artist Submissions Open:
October 1 - October 23, 2020
Artists will create their murals in one day for display outside of partner locations on November 14, 2020.
Selected artists will receive:

A $300 stipend

Supplies necessary to create the selected piece

Submission Information:
Submissions will be considered by festival team, partners, and sponsors.
All applicants will be notified if selected the week of October 26th
Artists are required to submit:

Brief artist bio
-
Title of design concept
-
Description of design concept
-
High resolution JPEGs of previous work samples OR mural design concept artwork
-
Link to portfolio, website, or other artist references
*Artists must be Philadelphia residents and at least 18 years of age*
Mural Details:
Medium: Artists can use soft pastels and chalk provided by the festival to create their murals on the brick/asphalt/concrete on the façade, sidewalk, and/or patio at their assigned partner location.
Prior experience working with chalk/ pastels a plus, but not required.
Work Location: Artists will be assigned a partner location in the Kensington/Fishtown area. All murals will be created outdoors.
Work Size: Mural sizes and positions will depend on location. The piece must be completed by single artist in 8 hours or less.
*Murals in the Philadelphia Chalk festival must be family friendly and cannot include hate speech, derogatory language, or graphic imagery.
